De dunne lijn
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
zorgen voor de ander
en
bezitterigheid
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
je wilskracht inzetten
en
alles altijd perfect te moeten doen
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
heel zachtjes bijsturen
en
constant oordelen
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
de wetenschap niet als absoluut te zien
en
beweren dat jij weet wat de waarheid is
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
zeggen vanuit liefde te handelen
en
naarstig het gat te vullen in je hart
Het is een dunne lijn
tussen
opstaan voor vrijheid
en
egocentrisme tot koning maken
Het is een dunne lijn….
die onze psyche in tweeën splijt
en waar onze geest het grotere geheel
uit het oog verliest
Maar zou je uitzoomen
zoals in het vogelperspectief
dan zou het plaatje anders zijn
dan zou de engte oplossen in heelheid
Want hoog daarboven
is die heel dunne lijn totaal verdwenen
en zou je gewoonweg de illusie van het ego voor geen seconde geloven

The Thin Line
It is a thin line
between
taking care of others
and
being possessive
It is a thin line
between
having a strong will
and
being too perfectionistic
It is a thin line
between
using gentle correction
and
being judgmental
It is a thin line
between
not seeing science as an absolute
and
claiming you yourself know what truth is
It is a thin line
between
acting out of love for others
and
diligently filling the hole in your heart
It is a thin line
between
standing up for freedom
and
making egocentricity king
It is this thin line…
the line that splits the mind
A mind that loses sight
of the bigger picture
If you would zoom out
like a bird's perspective
the picture would be different
narrowness dissolving into wholeness
Because high up
thin lines just totally disappear
and you would know not to believe
for one second, the illusion of the ego
